Tamara Kvesitadze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1968.

The artist also lives and works in Tbilisi. From 1985 to 1990 she studied at the Architectural Department of Tbilisi Technical University. In 1990 she graduated with an MA degree in Architecture.

Kvesitadze’s oeuvre features kinetic sculptures and paintings in which the element of the human being and the tension of genders and sexualities are underscored.

Her works have been influenced by ancient mythology, the Greek philosophical tradition, and Surrealist ideas.

Her art investigates both the internal conflicts of modern individuals and the relationship between individual and society. The artist places great emphasis on the notion of movement in her sculptural output, masterfully blending art and construction. She espouses the philosophy of Heraclitus and attempts to embody dynamism in her practice.
